On all the sites I've been on to check out this hotel I've noticed not many recent reviews. Here is mine (June 2007): arrived at the hotel to see that the special Internet reservation was for a room on the last floor (5), room 20, and there was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up five flights of stairs. Thankfully, we packed few things, and we're pretty used to stairs. When they say it is an old Victorian house they state the truth... our room was tiny, but what bothered us was the slanted ceiling which we continuously kept hitting our heads on. I think we must have been the taller ones in the smallest room! I am 5'8" and my husband is 6'3". We tried to ask for a change but -of course- that is what we agreed to pay for and the rest of the rooms appeared to be occupied... Positives: decently comfortable bed with clean sheets, cleaning done nicely every day, good breakfast, hotel extremely well positioned. We reached the conclusion that you pay for the location and nothing else, really. The neighbourhood is very colorful, with lots of stuff going on, and the tube is really just around the corner. I see people praising the jacuzzi tubs, but I have to mention that they are very loud and my bath at 11:30PM after a day's worth of walking, has resulted in a complaint from the neighbor in the room underneath. If you are a tourist, chances are you will end up coming back from your daily trips late at night and that is when you need that jacuzzi. The style of the rooms is shabby-chic vintage I guess, but the curtains were down right dirty, the furniture seemed more from the street fair than actual antiques, and the carpet needed replacement. These didn't bother us too much as we really just needed a clean room to sleep in, but I thought are worthy to mention, as the price we paid wasn't that cheap at all!

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, I was welcomed with tea and cake! Only the rooms are a bit on the small side, but that´s London!
Reccommendable.

My company recently organised a group of 12 of us to stay at The Abbey Court.
We were overwhelmed by the level of hospitality and attention to detail from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Everything, and I mean everything, was brilliant. We cant wait for the next occassion.

My company booked me into the Abbey Court at the tail end of a frantic business trip. I don't normally stay in boutique hotels but having stayed at the Abbey I will not be going anywhere else from now on. It's perfect, in every sense.

Excellent, very clean and fabulous staff, and the best bed I've slept in for ages. Would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent hotel, excellent location - nice quiet street but only a couple of minutes walk to just about everything.

The hotel oozes quality and style. Feels very traditional. Rooms were excellently laid out with all the facilites you could possibly need. Worth staying just for the bath actually - nice and big with a jacuzzi style bubble making machine :)

Staff were absolutely excellent, efficent, professional, polite and eager to help.

Definite reccomendation for anyone staying in London.

Oh, and they have a big goldfish in a pond outside.
